Welcome from the Headteacher

I am delighted to introduce you to Broughton Business and Enterprise College.  We are a popular, high-achieving mixed 11-16 community school with a proud history of success.  We are located in a pleasant, semi-rural environment in the village of Broughton, towards the north of Preston.

Broughton is a friendly, family orientated school where all children are provided with numerous opportunities to experience the joy of success in an environment in which all our young people feel safe, valued and inspired to learn.  Our staff are well-qualified and are prepared to go ‘the extra mile’ to help all children.  We are also fortunate to have supportive, well-informed and involved parents who naturally want the very best for their child.

In February 2012, Ofsted judged Broughton to be outstanding in every inspection category.  Our GCSE results are consistently above national averages and in 2013 Broughton was designated as a National Support School because of the excellent provision we provide.  However, life at Broughton is much more than examinations.  There are nearly 50 extra-curricular clubs and societies, with something to appeal to everyone.  We encourage every one of our children to ‘get involved’ and to enjoy and achieve in equal measure.

The best aspect of our school is undoubtedly our young people.  They are polite, smart, well-behaved, respectful and extremely hard working.  You are very welcome to come and visit Broughton at any time and experience our family atmosphere.  Please contact me at school and I will arrange for one of our students to show you around.
