Travelling Apothecary - 9th March

|

March 9th saw the History Department’s 'Travelling Apothecary' visit Year 6 pupils at Sherwood Primary School. Young BBEC historians engaged and entertained pupils for the afternoon in a workshop based on the History of Medicine. Various activities highlighted the importance of herbal medicines first used in the Middle Ages and still valued for their effective treatment of aches and ailments in Victorian Quackery!

                                        


World Book Day - 5th March

|

All week the Resource Learning Centre had events running in celebration of World Book Day, which included ‘where’s wally’ and badges on teachers. On Thursday the 5th, pupils released balloons at 1pm with details of their favourite book attached.

 

                                          

 


Chairman’s Challenge – “Back on yer Bike”- 2nd March

|

The aim of “Back on yer Bike” was to get as many staff and pupils as possible to cycle, during the week commencing 2nd March. The “Back on yer Bike” group had been meeting since October to work on ideas to promote cycling as an environmentally friendly and healthy way to travel.
