The Design and Technology Department

General Aims/Philosophy

The Department's philosophy is to create an atmosphere where pupils can realise the challenge, excitement and satisfaction that makes good Design and Technology memorable to pupils. Our main focus is on the pupils' classroom experiences and the teaching and learning that determine the quality of their achievements. We endeavour to show pupils the significance of technology in the wider context and the part it plays in improving the quality of life.

All students study Design Technology @ BBEC at KS3 and have the option of studying four GCSE's at KS4 in either Food Technology, Graphics, Textiles Technology or Resistant Materials. Pupils may also choose a Young Apprenticeship in Engineering.
