English @ BBEC

The English department aims for all students to become more confident and competent in their use of the English language. In particular, the department aims to increase pupils’ proficiency in the 3 major assessment areas of: speaking & listening, reading and writing.

The department recognises the importance of Literacy skills in developing the whole child; therefore, private reading, spelling and debating are encouraged both within lessons and also in extra curricular opportunities.

BBEC is fortunate enough to have a dedicated drama department and so drama is mainly catered for through the Drama department.
