All pupils in years 7 & 8 are taught Science for 3 periods per week in one of our six newly refurbished laboratories Pupils in year 9 have 4 periods of science per week and they use some of this time to prepare for their Key stage 4 courses. BBEC’s Science Department consists of 7 Teachers, 6 Laboratories and 1 Laboratory Technician. We also have a well stocked preparation area and a chemical storage room allowing a high level of practical work for each year group.

The Science department has good links with local primary schools and aims to make the transition between primary and secondary Science education as smooth as possible.  

At KS4, we try to offer a tailored course that best suits the needs of the pupils.

We have a long tradition of studying separate sciences at Broughton and we have a deserved reputation for offering the best preparation for A level.
